Interview with Janet Mulley (b.1955).
Janet Mulley and her husband moved to Milton Keynes in December 1985 from Chesham, when her husband’s firm relocated. They still live in their Conniburrow house; her husband is now self-employed and Janet is a teacher; she talks about her first job in MK on the Lakes estate – ‘the most difficult I ever had’.
She talks of their family health problems, and their daughter’s education; they are concerned about the quality of local secondary education. Their support network has been through many friendships. Janet has volunteered with the Samaritans, then read for the blind at the Open University, and finally joined the magistracy 11 years ago. They are happy in Milton Keynes, with their house near the city centre and Theatre. They have enjoyed watching the city develop.
