Letter from Hubert Taylor to his parents, 9 March 1945
Photocopy of a letter from Hubert Taylor to his parents dated 9 March 1945. Hubert thanks his mother for two recent letters and is pleased his letters are reaching home. He is pleased to hear about a confirmation service his family attended and notes that it has been 20 years since his own confirmation. He is clearly pleased with the progress his daughters are making. Hubert mentions a map and a photograph he had sent home. He will be asking officers about a Harold Lampitt who seems to be on the same station as Hubert and who has said that the station is in one of the nicest parts of India. Hubert reports that he is well and has recently taken on new duties on the watch. He had attended an Army v RAF football match and hopes to go on leave to the hills soon where it will be cooler. He notes that he has been in the RAF for four years but hopes the war will soon be over as he has heard that Allied troops have crossed the Rhine. He wishes his family well, hopes they can soon take a holiday and tells them not to let anything get them down.
