Photographic postcard titled “The Territorials – Morning Wash” on bottom left. The black and white photograph shows young soldiers in uniform washing in the open air on two long benches. There are four tents in the background. On the reverse of the postcard George Mumford has written “Dear M. Just a line in answer to your letter which I was very glad to get and also for thinking of my birthday but anything will do under 5d. I had a letter from mother and she said she was glad to here from me. Ursie sent me three pocket handkerchiefs for present. I am now attending the hospital with my arm from vaccination it will be allright in a day or two I think this is all this time more next time from George” . The postcard is addressed to Miss M Mumford Langstone Stn Avenue Walton on Thames. The postcard bears a green half penny stamp and is franked 8 30 PM AU 3 at Brentwood.
