Photographic postcard "YOUR DEAR OLD DAD WAS IRISH (2)"
Illustrated coloured photographic postcard showing a young and older soldier standing on a quay next to a ship. The ship has a red and black funnel and already holds many soldiers some of whom are waving. The older bearded soldier is wearing a green sash and is pinning a spray of shamrock on the lapel of a younger soldier. The younger man is already wearing a red rose. Beneath the image is the second verse of the song/poem “YOUR DEAR OLD DAD IS IRISH” which tells of the older soldier asking the younger man to wear shamrock with pride next to the rose of Old England as a symbol of liberty. The reverse of the card is blank.
