Black and White photographic postcard . The card is embossed to resemble a wooden picture frame. Within the frame is a wooden panel on which is a photograph of three children. The central child is a girl with ringlets and a white hat. She wears a dark dress with white collar and cuffs. On either side are boys, the right hand one is in Dutch Boy costume and with a cap and is holding a long stemmed pie to his mouth. The left hand boy is also in costume and holds another long stemmed pipe. He has long blonde hair and wears a white cap. All three children wear clogs. Behind them is a painted backcloth of sail boats. Beneath the photograph is a panel which reads “TWO STRINGS TO HER BOW”. The card is addressed to Mrs Pittam High Street Castlethorpe Nr Stony Stratford Bucks. The message reads “Dear Nance. Very glad you got home alright but sorry it was such a rotten day Better luck next time you come I hope Dora”. The card is franked RICHMOND SURREY and dated 11PM NO 13 08.
