Coloured photographic postcard showing the Blackpool Tower Menagerie circa 1905. There are a row of cages to the right each containing a gold coloured animal (lion/tiger?). An ornate scrollwork railing runs in front of the cages. The roof and walls of the hall are similarly ornate and the ceiling is supported by thin metal pillars. Two large candelabra style light fittings are suspended from the ceiling. there is a three tiered viewing platform in the middle of the hall surmounted with long benches facing each way. The hall is predominantly gray and pink. Seat benches are green. The card is addressed to “Mrs E Pittam near schools Castlethorpe stoney Stratford Bucks”. The message reads “overstone Dear Annie just a line to let you know that I am at [Letty?] she had a son tuesday morning she is getting on allright thanks for sending about the [Blackley?] but I would not be able to do anything with them or I should have liked some [?] [?] that sent your letter to me I will write again [??????????????????????????]
