Coloured photographic postcard showing a four poster bed with pink/purple and gold canopy and curtains. The bed covering is in white and pink. A hard backed chair with gilt arms and legs and pink/purple upholstery is next to the bed. The bed and chairs are roped off and one pillar of the bed is labelled. There is a fireplace with a mirror above to the right of the bed. The picture is captioned “King Charles’ Bedroom at Holyrood Palace” in the bottom right hand corner. The card is addressed to Miss Mumford, 10 Chislehurst Road Richmond Surrey and the message reads “Dear Dora I had a P C from Annie and she said you had not heard from me but I wrote a letter and sent it last Saturday morning you ought to have had it last Saturday night (?) (?) wont go shall I return it to you see them about it where you had it from or shall we let it be till Ursie comes and then she can bring it back with her wishing you a very happy new year with love from all and your Mother”. The card is franked CHARLTON NORTHANTS DE 30 10.
