Back and white photographic postcard of a view across a lake in Abington Park, Northampton. There is a group of four children on the farside of the lake and beyond some iron railings is a small church and a large house. There are trees at the lakes edge and in the distance. The card is labelled “ABINGTON PARK LAKE, NORTHAMPTON. The card is addressed to Mrs Pittam Near Schools Castlethorpe Stony Stratford Buckinghamshire. The message reads “14 Sand Hill Road Dear B&S just a line to say I have sent a box by the half past 7 train tonight Saturday I have sent you a few plums there’s not a lot this year I have put you in a few yellow in that one nice and seat the red ones are off our tree the (basket?) is for (Kate?) and the little parcel tied to it yours (?) the baby frocks at the bottom of the box will (ted?) in the morning if you get it allright I asked them to let you have it (?) (?) (?) love to all (?).” The card is franked NORTHAMPTON 10.15 PM au 27 10.
