Cartoon Postcard "Don't You Ever Send Answers To The People Who Write To You?"
Cartoon postcard illustrated by Donald McGill. The illustration shows two rolled newspapers – a brown one titled “ANSWERS” and a white one entitled “The People”. These titles form part of the phrase “DON’T YOU EVER SEND ANSWERS TO THE PEOPLE WHO WRITE TO YOU?”. The reverse of the card is addressed to Mrs Cyril Pittam Castlethorpe Stony Stratford Bucks. The message reads “Dear Cyril a line or two in answer to your letter glad to hear from you hope a good boy and I hope I shall be able to see you soon shall write again before [xmas?] with love from your father C Pittam”. Above the address is written “active service” and there is a purple triangular stamp reading “PASSED BY CENSOR No 2485”. The card is dsated 10 DEC 15.
