Milton Keynes Safety Centre
This is a short film about Milton Keynes’ safety centre. The safety centre has mock-ups of different everyday situations and the guides run activities to highlight the possible hazards to look out for and show them what to do in an emergency.
The film opens with shot of a fire engine in motion with siren sounding and Jeff Goddard, the Chief Fire and Rescue Officer, in a piece to camera discussing aspects of his job in preventing death and accidents. During this and throughout the film are scenes of different guides giving advice and running scenarios on issues including: fire safety; home safety; building site safety; road safety; railway safety; garage safety; personal safety; water safety; the recovery Position and farm safety. The film is narrated by an unknown woman who describes how the Safety Centre works. The end of the film has a piece to camera by a teacher, Christine Hawkins, about how useful the site is.
