Story Board for 'Return to Nursing' and general views of Milton Keynes General Hospital
A film which includes a Story Board for ‘Return to Nursing’ produced by John Hemson Associates and general views of hospital wards for children and adults and the pharmacy at Milton Keynes General Hospital.
The film starts with the title `Return to Nursing – Story Board` the scene is of hospital wards and a narrator, Norma Fryer Senior Nurse of Clinical Development at Milton Keynes General Hospital, talks about the changes in nursing and the shortages of nurses. She explains that the purpose of this programme is for it to be used for recruiting new nurses.
The story board starts with an illustration of a man and woman in car with the text ‘Some things never change ….’. They are heading to the 21st anniversary party at the School of Nursing. At the party our main character Kay meets an old friend who tells her about how she could come back to nursing and how things have changed and improved. During the programme we see illustrations and scenes from hospital wards of nurses and patients. At the end the narrator returns to explain again the purpose of the pilot and to ask for financial support. Whilst she talks thanks and then the credits appear on the screen.

00:05:51 from here it shows general views of wards on Milton Keynes General Hospital. Initially this is of a children’s ward, showing medicines being sorted, a mother comforting her child; babies in cots; the children’s play area and meals being served and eaten.
00:18:45 the film cuts to an adult ward, showing general life on a ward including patients sat at their beds and being moved; the nurses station; drinks being served; the ward clerk typing up patients notes; nurses with patients and making beds
00:39:15 the film cuts briefly to a meeting then to the Pharmacy. A rep arrives and we see pharmacists working and then a meeting to discuss the delivery of some new drugs. The film then shows a Pharmacy Folder whilst a narrator says what should be included. It then cuts back to the meeting where they are discussing an Ethics Committee. The film cuts abruptly during this.
