A 24-page booklet with self-cover, written by Agnes E. Weston, Treasurer of the Royal Sailors’ Rests at Portsmouth and Devonport. Its cover shows an armed sailor by the coast, with a warship on the horizon. This booklet gives Miss Weston’s account of some of her encounters with those involved in the war and appeals for donations to the War Chest – to send parcels to those fighting and to provide relief for those left in great need, quite often widowed mothers of sailors. The booklet is printed in navy text on a slightly glossy paper; there are 10 full-page illustrations and 10 smaller illustrations, with additional colour.
