Northampton Mercury - opening the railway in sections: Denbigh Hall (1838).
Photocopy of an article detailing the further opening of the London and Birmingham Railway to Denbigh Hall – and the opening of the entire portion of the seventy seven mile stretch of railway from Rugby to Birmingham. The account is favourable to the endeavour and gains momentum as the crowds build up along the route. The two trains depart, following a delay due to the late arrival of the van carrying passenger luggage.
