Carrington, in his opening address reports on defaulting shareholders, reasons for delays in the progress of the extension of the line and the satisfactory report of the engineer. Article includes a transcript of the report and refers to the favourable outcome of negotiations with the majority of the land owners and proprietors. Progress report from Robert Stephenson to the directors, stating his satisfaction with the contractors work and a listing of the Treasurers half yearly accounts. Transcript of discussion about defaulting shareholders and a resolution of thanks to the chairman.
