Photocopy of article that describes the buildings under construction at the point where the Grand Junction, Birmingham and London lines meet. Description of the railway’s approach to passenger safety, by assembling a sizeable, carefully selected and effective body of police to detect any obstructions on the line that may cause delays or accidents. Peculiar to the London and Birmingham line is the fence that encloses the entire line and the ‘telegraphic’ communications system of waving flags to warn of obstructions.
