Notice of workshops and a public performance held by Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger at Stantonbury Campus (1976).
The notice publicises the concert at the Stantonbury theatre and the three workshops held in September 1976, The first on the evening of Friday 10th September was an introduction to writing folk songs and ballads seminar.
The second on the morning of Saturday 11th September and the final session on the morning of Sunday 12th September were workshops on writing folk songs and ballads using ‘All Change’ story material. This included material about Wolverton in the form of historical documents, extracts from newspapers and oral history interviews.
In the ‘All Change’ booklet the group acknowledged their debt to Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger, ‘they came and gave us a superb seminar on song-writing (and a public concert). From this basis we wrote all our songs. When they came back, they subjected our efforts to meticulous examination and made helpful suggestions. In some cases it was back to the drawing board to emerge with sturdier rhythms and stronger lines’.
