The above comment is correct, the photo shows the Bedford branch line passing beneath the A5 Watling Street at Stag Bridge which is adjacent to the A5 junction with Victoria Road. The newer A5D does not appear in the photo, if it was built at this time it would have been just out of shot at the left of the photo.
The label for this appears to be incorrect. The picture shows the Bedford to Bletchley line crossing under Watling Street. This may have been before the A5D was constructed and so Watling St may at that time have also been the A5.
